A Mother of Two with a Brilliant Photographic Eye and Unique Professional Background
Katie’s creative process begins with each client’s conceptual vision and then draws on her specialized background in film production including set design and styling, makeup artistry and high-end costume design. A graduate of the Savanah College of Art and Design, Katie spent 6 years in film production in Los Angeles, followed by ongoing education in cinematic special effects makeup and hair styling. Katie established her children’s and family portrait photography business in L.A., where she developed a loyal family client-base prior to moving to Denver in 2014. Katie now works with a professional creative team of stylists, makeup and wardrobe professionals who help make the whole experience as easy for the client as it is memorable.
As a mother, Katie understands how to work with children, how to reach into their deepest imagination and draw out whimsical wanderings that become the basis for the finished product of each creative family photography session. With the vision established, Katie meticulously builds each dream scene by carefully scouting shoot locations, exploring set treatments, and hand-selecting clothing and makeup options.On the day of the shoot, clients are enveloped in an experience that feels natural and relaxed despite the tremendous production value and Katie’s attention to every detail. Once the photographs are captured, Katie’s highly specialized post-production skills and acute aesthetic sense are applied to achieve beautifully polished images.
